Not restoration, but creation.
For some 40 years, as Senior Managing Director of Tanabe Iron Works and of Hidaka Kikai, I have worked in the manufacture of large machinery. The relationships built through heavy-electrical machinery work, including more than 20 years with Hitachi Power Solutions, remain the foundation of my work. In 2020 I founded HIDAKA Machine Engineering, focused on research and development and international business.
Soon after we started came the pandemic, and then the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of January 2024, which destroyed our head-office factory. Even so, I chose not just to restore what was there before, but to create new value that only Noto can offer.
The DR Congo has resources that Japanese manufacturing depends on. We will bring them to Japan through reliable routes that respect human rights and the environment, develop refining skills in Noto, and train people. One day I hope to return that technology to the Congo. Linking resources, technology and people in Noto is what I mean by creation.
In my previous roles I also worked on developments that never became products. What I learned is that good products do not sell by themselves; products that people need do. With that lesson in mind, we will build our record step by step, put our commitments in contracts and writing, and prove responsible sourcing to international standards.

About the CEO

- Former Senior Managing Director of Tanabe Iron Works and of Hidaka Kikai; about 40 years in large-machine manufacturing, with engineering experience for Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Cable, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and others.
- Founded HIDAKA Machine Engineering in 2020.
- President of the Ishikawa Cycling Federation; councillor of the Japan Cycling Federation (JCF).

The CEO's previous experience
Track record (CEO's previous roles)
- About 40 years: engineering of large machinery and plant, and machine tool retrofitting
- More than 20 years: manufacturing large machinery for Hitachi Power Solutions (formerly Hitachi Plant Engineering)
- From 2006: joint development of a non-combustible board, from prototype machines to full-size press trials. It did not reach production, and that knowledge led to our nano-glass penetrating coating.
Our philosophy
To make use of Japanese timber, with an eye on world markets, we provide the materials, technology and equipment that are needed.
Above this, "Noto-ze" is the yardstick for every project:
Building an Ishikawa where industry and culture thrive together and young people can picture their future.
Three principles
- Build a record in small, sure steps
- Protect contracts and intellectual property from the start
- Prove responsible sourcing to international standards
